dareka no manazashi, a new anime short film by Shinkai Makoto who is most famous for 5 centimeters per second, is now online at youtube. It has no subtitles at the time of the post, but one with subtitles will (i hope) come out soon. It is only 7 minutes, but short length isn't always a bad thing. In celebration of the release, I watched Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko, another one of his shorts and which I enjoyed for the 5 minutes that it ran. It's about a cat who gets adopted by an unamed girl, and is told from the perspective of the cat. The story is simple, but it's worth the five minutes. The whole movie is also in black and white.
